iNHouse Communications took an innovative approach to this year’s Party Conference season with the launch of a London Lounge.

Tired of dealing with the nightmare of trying to get a table and coffee in the foyer of the Conference hotel to hold meetings; iNHouse decided that the way political consultants do business at conference should change, and in reaction developed the London Lounge. With great success the London Lounge became the business home at Conservative Party Conference. The luxury lounge provided a first-class experience with a dedicated Starbucks team serving their Reserve blend coffee on a daily basis, bookable meeting pods and a ‘getaway’ from the busy conference areas. Located within the secure zone the lounge was strictly for senior business figures, politicians and senior party officials as well as the media elite and party advisers. Over 600 key opinion leaders and business figures frequented the lounge and it is fair to say it was the talk of Conference.

High praises have been sung by the likes of Minister for Energy and Climate Change, Greig Barker MP; Minister for Wales, Cheryl Gillan MP; and Sam Coates, Chief Political Correspondent of the Times to name a few. Raving the Lounge as ‘an oasis’ and a ‘wonderful innovation’.

In an interview by David Wooding, Associate Editor (Politics) at News International; iNHouse Director, Katie Perrior said:

“It has proved such a big hit that plans are already afoot to extend it next year. We’ve been attending conferences for years and the biggest complaint is that there’s so few places to hold meetings.
“Most hotel meeting rooms have been booked up months in advance and there’s nowhere to have a private chat at short notice. We’ve tried to recreate the experience you have when you travel first class – comfort, free refreshments and plenty of room to get on with your work. We are delighted it has been such a hit”.
